ADDENDUM FOR ADVANCED LEVEL, UNIT 8, LESSON 1.

Activity 1

Look at the following pictures for a minute, and try to memorize as many words as possible.

 

Activity 2.

Pair activity. Tell your partner the words that you remember in American and British English.

Activity 3.

Role play.

Student A: Imagine you are American, and you are in a British supermarket. You want to buy some items from the list above but the clerk doesn´t understand you. Explain to him/her what you want.

Student B: You are a clerk in a British supermarket and an American customer needs some items but you don´t understand what he wants. Ask him to explain what he/she wants.

LESSON PLAN.

Level: Advanced.

Unit 8, Lesson 1

Objective:

To consolidate the vocabulary about differences between American and British English presented in the book.

Procedure:

1.       Teacher follows the steps in the book page 50, exercises 1-3.

2.       Students check answers.

3.       Students work in pairs and do the exercise 1 and 2 on page 51.

4.       Students work with the addendum shown in the blog provided by the teacher.

5.       Some students volunteer to present the role play in front of the class.

6.       Teacher gives feedback to students.
